Charlotte Lee (Lefler) Sparks

She was born on June 25, 1943, in Rowan County, North Carolina and was the beloved daughter of Lon and Charlotte Lefler, who preceded her in death.

Charlotte was married to the love of her life, Harold “Jerry” Sparks, who preceded her in death, and together they built a loving and close-knit family. She was a devoted mother to six children: Lynn Hutchens, whose husband Dale Hutchens preceded her in death; Patricia Diane Sparks (preceded her in death); Margie Sparks (preceded her in death); Harold “Yogi” Sparks and his wife Tammy Sparks; Ronald “Boo” Sparks and his wife Georgia Sparks; and Clate “Squeaky” Sparks (preceded her in death).

Known lovingly as Memaw, Charlotte was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren: Jeff Sparks and wife Brandi, Jenny Sparks, Heather Crump, Nikki Polk and husband Wayne, Darrel Hackler (preceded her in death), Cole Yow and wife Ashley, Brandy Johnson and husband Matt, and Ronnie Sparks. She was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.

Charlotte is survived by her sister, Brenda Baker. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lee Lefler; her sister, Terri Lefler; and her brother-in-law, Clyde Baker.

Charlotte faithfully worked for Technimark for 27 years before retiring. A woman of strong Christian faith, she loved reading her Bible and spending quiet moments with the Lord. She found great happiness at the beach, tending her garden, being outdoors, spending time with her family, and loving her faithful dog, Daisy, who brought her daily comfort and companionship.

Charlotte’s life was a testament to love, perseverance, and faith. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., with a memorial service honoring Charlotte’s life beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407.
