Christine was born in Dobbs Ferry, NY, to Gosta and Margaret Lewander. She was a middle school teacher and homemaker who lived in Greensboro for 42 years, where she was active in the Guilford College United Methodist Church. After retiring, she served as the past president of the Piedmont Quality of Life Coalition, a non-profit. Christine will be missed for her thoughtfulness, humor and dedication to family.
Christine is survived by daughter, Julianne Capps of Raleigh, NC, and son, Jeffrey Peeler of El Cerrito, CA, as well as four grandchildren. She was fortunate to have caring friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by former spouse, Stephen Peeler.
