Christopher Roderic Dressler, 64, of Greensboro died Wednesday night at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the chapel of Grace Episcopal Church in Lexington, where he was a member. Burial will follow at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.

Chris was born July 23, 1948 in Huntington, WV, to Bertram Dressler and Doris McBride Dressler.

Chris was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam, where he received the Purple Heart Award. He graduated from the NC State University Agricultural Institute and spent his career as a golf course superintendent and in turf equipment sales. He will be remembered most for his kind, gentle soul and for his humility. He was a loving husband and a giving friend.

In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Dressler.

Surviving is his wife of 36 years, Joan Brinson Dressler.
