She had a beautiful and interesting life with her husband, Dr. Irvin Blumenthal, a general surgeon whom she married on March 22, 1944. Dr. B. died at the age of 86, four years previously. They were married for 63 years and traveled the world and were known by so many people. The lived over 60 years in Atlanta and were active members of the Standard Club and all her children were confirmed at The Temple.
She is survived by her brother, Jerry Hyman of Greensboro, NC; her brother-in-law, Sol Blumenthal of Atlanta; her four children and their wives; Rick and Esti Blue of Atlanta, Jim and Janet Blue of Seattle, WA, Lisa Blue-Baron of Dallas, TX, and John and Lisa Blue of Greensboro, NC. The family wishes to give a heartfelt thanks to her caretaker, Cathy Dunham, who was by her side for more than a year. Also, a special thank you to Hubert Tinsley, who has always been a loyal and close friend. CB will always be known for her sense of humor and quick wit. She never met a stranger and people were drawn to her by her personality. There was no place that she went that she was not always teasing someone. Her jokes were widespread and everyone knew they would be the object of her humor. She was a part of so many people’s lives and she will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at the Hebrew Cemetery in Greensboro with Rabbi Fred Guttman officiating.
