Clyde Leslie Taylor Jr., DDS, died peacefully at home with his loyal dog, Hundley, by his side on January 15, 2024. A memorial service will be at 1 PM, Sunday, January 21, 2024 at River Landing followed by a reception and visitation at 2 PM.
Clyde was born in Greensboro to the late Clyde and Lois Barnette Taylor. He married Wayne Hartsell in 1957 and she survives him. Together they enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends. His hobbies included tennis, pool and reading and he kept his yard and cars impeccable. Dr. Taylor was a down to earth man with a quick wit. He was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as elder. For many years he practiced dentistry in Wendover Medical Park until retirement in 1997 and also overseas with the US Air Force.
In addition to his loving wife he is survived by his children and their spouses, Eric and Jennifer Taylor of Winston-Salem and Leslie and Bill Gaynor of Charleston, SC; and grandchildren, Helen, Katie and John Gaynor and Jack, Matthew and Courtney Taylor.
