

Cyril George Hunt passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, January 21, 2012. The son of Minnie Frazier and Cyril Garret Hunt, he was born in Greensboro on June 26, 1921. He lived for sixty years on Albright Drive and had been a resident of the Masonic Home for the last three.
Mr. Hunt proudly served in the Navy for four years during World War II, primarily on an LST in the Pacific where he participated in six invasions. He spent much of his career in partnership with his brother, Marvin, in the Hunt Brokerage Company. He enjoyed wood working, making ceramic jewelry, and playing golf.
Mr. Hunt was a lifetime and devoted member of Centenary United Methodist Church where he was involved in many church activities; was active in his Sunday School class, and always participated in the annual Pumpkin Patch sale.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lilian, and is survived by his daughters, Barbara Craig and Betty Beard and by his grandchildren, Jennifer Beard Haltom, Glenn Beard and wife Ashley, and Mark Matthews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 23, 2012 in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by his dear friend, Reverend Don Lloyd. Military Honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Entombment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends for thirty minutes prior to the service at Hanes- Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel.
