

.Dammie Bray Collins, 94, a resident of Jamestown, NC passed away peacefully on Friday, March 4, 2016. Dammie was born in the Grant’s Creek community of Onslow County, NC on September 21, 1921 to George H. and Nettie J. Bray. She was the oldest of four children and was of the Baptist faith. She graduated from White Oak High School where she enjoyed being a member of the basketball team. Shortly after graduation, she married F. Dalton Collins and they spent several years farming prior to moving to the Piedmont area of NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years in 1994. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons; Doug Collins and Linwood (Barbara) Collins, both of Jamestown, NC and grandchildren; Mike (Barb) Collins of High Point, Teresa (Clarence) Barnett of Surfside Beach, SC, Greg (Ashley) Collins of Linwood, Kenny (Brandi) Collins of High Point, Steven (Jessica) Collins of Garner and Kevin (Alaina) Collins of Greensboro and eleven great grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters; Mary Rowe of Trenton, Dixie Cotton of Maysville; brother, Jack (Iva Lee) Bray of Pollocksville, several nieces and a nephew. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who always cherished her time with family

Visitation will be on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 1-2 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel in Greensboro, NC. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. and burial at Guilford Memorial Park.
