

Dana was born April 18, 1980, in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late Steve McCall and Brenda Owens.
Dana worked at Design Masters Displays in High Point. She was always a tomboy and loved sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Dana had a big heart for homeless animals and was a regular donor to the ASPCA. Her favorite color was green.
In addition to her father, Dana was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Carrie Tugman Canter and her paternal grandfather, Emmett William Owens Sr.
Surviving are her children, Ariel Barker of Boone and Lucas Owens of Winston Salem; her mother, Brenda Owens Perrell of Winston Salem and her brothers, Thomas Jackson Perrell Jr. and Toby McCall, both of Winston Salem, Jeremy McCall {Mary} of Claremont and Derek McCall {Jill} of Gamewell; 2 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
Dana also left behind a host of uncles and aunts including Larry Owens {Sherry} of Mt. Airy, David Owens Sr. {Michelle} of Lexington, Emmett Owens Jr.{Cathy} and Sheila Owens Williams, all of Winston Salem, Lisa Perrell {Timothy} of Westfield, Monica Campbell of Greenville, SC, Mary Shelton of Sebring, FL, Rebecca Whisentant [Jerry} and Helen Perkins, all of Lenoir, and a dear friend of her home, Gary Campbell of High Point, and a host of cousins that she loved dearly.
A celebration of Dana’s life will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Sonlight Missionary Baptist Church, 1588 Pineridge Rd., Lexington, NC 27295.
The family asks with gratitude that memorials in Dana’s name be made to the ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
