

A celebration of Brett’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church, 119 North Bunker Hill Road, Colfax, NC 27235. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Brett was born August 2, 1972, in Guilford Co., NC to M. Jay DeVaney and Susan B. DeVaney. He was a graduate of Northwest High School and Appalachian State University where he received his BS in Business Administration. He was the business manager at DeVaney Dentistry in Oak Ridge.
Brett was a man of many talents but he was best at loving people and being loved. Those who came in contact with Brett were endeared to his gentle loving personality. There is no doubt he will truly be missed by all who knew him. Brett was a deeply dedicated daddy to his girls. He enjoyed coaching Maddie's basketball team, attending Kristin's Violin Recitals and Gymnastics classes, going on nature walks and loved to snuggle them. Always proud of their many accomplishments, he also inspired them to reach higher. He possessed a unique and witty sense of humor.
Brett is survived by his wife, Juliana Williams DeVaney of the home; children, Madelyn and Kristin DeVaney; father, M. Jay DeVaney and wife Amy Smith-DeVaney of Summerfield; mother, Susan B. DeVaney and husband Steve Kaczmarek of Greensboro; brother, Matthew DeVaney; sister, Megan DeVaney both of Summerfield; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Carole Williams of Colfax; sister-in-law, Nancy Davis Williams of Colfax; nieces, Alexis DeVaney, Monica Williams, Amber Krusinski and nephews, Grant DeVaney, Dustin Krusinski and Daniel Williams. Also surviving are numerous extended loving family and friends.
