It was such an honor and pleasure to be associated with Dr. Garfinkel both as a patient while as a student at Kearny High school in the early 60's and as a coach while Dr. Garfinkel was the Kearny HS football team physician in the 70's. He was a man of great kindness and generosity. My sincere condolences to his family. I know he will be sorely missed and always in their hearts.

So sad to hear of Dan's passing. I met Dr Daniel Garfinkel in 1984 as a patient and said to him...Sir! I'm gonna work with you someday. And so it began in 1986 at Urgent Medical until his retirement. I learned so much from him, the stuff not found in books. The stories I still share today are legendary. My deepest sympathies to Renee and Family...what a legacy, what a life, what a guy. Dan, you will be missed. You are the greatest generation.

So sad to hear of Dr. Garfinkel's passing.  He was certainly one of a kind. I was privileged to work with him at Urgent Medical and Family Care in Greensboro for many years, and have many fun memories of that time.  My sincere sympathies to Renee and all of the family.  I see several of you became doctors also.  What a legacy he left behind.

I learned an awful lot from this man. Condolences Renee and the rest of the family.

Many hugs and great memories of you. You were my wonderful dr. and I loved working with you at Cone Hospital. Your knowledge, bedside manner and care meant everything to all.

As a kid from Kearny, I shall not forget the generosity of Dr. Garfinkel. Just a wonderful man with a wonderful family. Prayers to the entire family for your loss. Looking back 50 years, I can still remember Dr. Dan taking our Shop Rite team to Dairy Queen or Carvel. He had a heart of Gold ! Thank you for that ! Good people who do great things for others ! Amen.

RIP Dr. Dan. You were loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing you. My condolences to Renee, Ellen, Michael, Steve and your families . He will be missed.
