Darrell Douglas Rhodes

A funeral service will be held Saturday at two o’clock in the afternoon at Gospel Baptist Church by Pastor Paul Luttrell. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Darrell was born August 22, 1957 in Durham, the son of the late Donald Douglas Rhodes and Linda Walker Rhodes.

Darrell was a member of Gospel Baptist Church where he was active and loved the Lord. He enjoyed working with the seniors there as they affectionately called him Ernest T. Bass. Darrell was a graduate of Page High School and was employed for many years by Harris Teeter as the produce manager. He never met a stranger, always smiling, joking and cutting up with friends. Darrell kept up with his Facebook friends and was passionate about Relay for Life and the Cancer Action Network. Most of all Darrell enjoyed music and spending time with his family.

In addition to his father, Darrell was preceded in death by his daughter, Christian Rhodes. Surviving in addition to his mother of Greensboro is his wife, Darlene Rhodes; son, Brandon Rhodes of Tulsa, OK; daughters, Holly Martin (Reggie) of Greensboro and Amanda Ward (Brian) of Raeford; sister, Penny Jones (Roger) of Browns Summit; brother, Danny Rhodes (Julie) of Jamestown; grandchildren, Rikailee, Jayden and Jordan Rhodes, Madison Smith, Ainsley, Aspen and Haven Martin.

Family and friends will be received from twelve noon until two o’clock Saturday afternoon at the church.
