A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 6 in the chapel of First Baptist Church.
Mr. Edgerton was a member of First Baptist Church and the Caldwell Sunday school class. He was a graduate of N.C. State University and retired from Burlington Industries with 40 years of service.
Mr. Edgerton was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Christine C. Edgerton, 1 brother and 4 sisters.
Mr. Edgerton is survived by his sons, David J. Edgerton, Jr. and wife, Allison of Charlotte, Mark D. Edgerton and wife, Lori of Waxhaw and four grandchildren; Kyle, Leah, Andrew and Kendall.
