Pastor David James Edwards

He was born in Davidson County on December 27, 1962 a son to Arthur Clinton Edwards and Shirley Ann Bowers Edwards. He was a painter and a pastor having served at various church’s. He was the loving husband to Susan Waller Edwards. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Elizabeth “Emme” Edwards. David served the lord for almost 40 years and pastored at Coverdale Baptist Church for 16 years. He loved spending free time fishing and reading his Bible, whenever possible. He also put his church family’s needs above his own.

Surviving are his wife, Susan Waller Edwards of the home; sons, Benjamin Edwards and wife Jessica, Jachin Edwards; special daughter, Gina Ford and husband Charlie; mother, Shirley Edwards; brothers, Roy Edwards, Floyd Edwards and wife Tracey, Keith Edwards and wife Kristy; sister Karen Hinshaw and husband Melvin; grandchildren, Randy, Zariah, and Donivan.

A Celebration Of Life Service will be 2:00 pm Thursday at New Hights Baptist Church, 5082 Meadowbrook Dr, Trinity, NC and visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
