Not a day passes where I don’t think of Dave. I was privileged to be a close friend for over 20 years and what folks have said before me: his ambitions and motivations to bring them to fruition were nothing short of incredible. He was a dear friend that pushed me into music at a young age (thanks to Drew’s drum set) and I couldn’t be more grateful, except for Mr and Mrs Schlosser’s unwavering support for the noise pollution we filled the house with -that is a special set of parents that encouraged all of his whims and goals. I always had the best time spending the night, working on videos, computers or music, we had many sleepless nights that taught me so much, most of all how intelligent David was and how fortunate I was to be friends with him for so long. Not to mention memaw’s biscuits that were second to none. 

I miss you Dave. Time doesn’t help as I see constant reminders but those no longer depress me but encourage happy thoughts and remembering what fun we had and the info about everything that was way over my head but you knew so well; I unconvincingly smiled and nodded. 

I can’t believe it’s been this long. Love and peace to you, your dear family, and innumerable friends captivated by your fun, whimsy, charm and intellect. Love you bud, forever.

Rebecca, Mike & Family: There are no words to express how sad I was to hear of David's passing.  There is nothing worse than the loss of a child. It leaves me speechless and tongue-tied to even write what I want to say to you both.  All I can say, is I love you both very, very much and I hope that with time, the pain and sorrow will lessen as you recall all the wonderful memories of the good times that you spent with your son. Hi Mike and Rebecca, there is no greater loss than the loss of a child. In life we should not be burying our children, but sometimes life does not go as planned and we are left with the unanswered questions. I am so sorry for your loss but know that you will have his memories that will never die. Children are gifts from god that are only given to us temporarily, unfortunately we never know when that period will end and no matter how prepared we are it is still unbearable and hard to overcome.

My son Steven was a CompSci major and graduated with David. He thought that David was one of the most talented people he knew, and spoke to him recently about a project. Steven was so very sad to hear of Davids death.

I have never met you nor your son. I was walking home from CVS today, Monday, and as I passed the church I noted a very large crowd gathering. So large of a crowd that people had to park on the surrounding streets.
I met a lady coming out of her house that was heading towards the church. I asked her if it was a funeral service. She shared with me that yes it was, for your dear David. 
There is no doubt that David was loved and befriended my many as witnessed by the crowd gathered to rejoice in his short time on earth.

I hope you find comfort in the many lives that David touched. I too hope that today and in days to come you can feel the joy he spread, and the stories of such.
