A memorial gathering to celebrate her life will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407.
Deborah was born May 14, 1951, in Alamance County, to the late Reid and Carrie Shaw. She graduated from Walter M. Williams High School and worked in Retail Management for much of her working life. Deborah was of the Christian faith, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In her spare time, she enjoyed scrapbooking and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 52 years, William R. Mills; son, Jon W. Mills (Atsuko Hirosawa); daughter, Bene’ Closson (Wesley); grandchildren, Aaden Mills, Ian Mills, Chandler Mills and Katie Carter; granddaughter-in-law, Charlotte Mills; and great-grandchild, Halston Mills.
