An angel got her wings on Monday, September 17, 2018 when Diana L. Jenkins passed away at home in Greensboro, surrounded by her loving family. She is now totally healed after a 3 ½ year battle with cancer.
A celebration for Diana’s life will be at 5 PM, Friday, September 21 at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm chapel.
Diana lived out her true calling as a registered nurse for over 32 yrs. Her desire to serve and help others was evident as she practiced with a strong conviction to provide excellent and compassionate health care to all her patients. She was known as a hard core nurse who knew her stuff and was highly respected by her peers at Moses Cone Hospital Cardiac Unit.
Diana was a friend to all she met and would give the shirt off her back to anyone who needed it. Her generosity and kindheartedness made her easy to talk to and others felt comfortable in her company. Although her true love was nursing, she was happiest when raising her two step daughters, Zoie and Mattie, who she loved dearly. She enjoyed music, movies, books, cross stitch, crafts, horseback riding, cooking, driving on long road trips, and fishing off her father’s pier.
She will be missed and forever treasured by her parents, Jacquelyn C. Jenkins and Robert L. Jenkins and his wife, Teresa; siblings and their spouses, Beth and Gary Campbell, Robin and Todd Aron, Kristi and Shane Sewing, and Wes and Jackie Jenkins; nieces and nephews, Amber, Michelle, Tiffany, Devin, Ragan, Jessica and husband Derek, Ruby, Cheyenne, Bridget, and Billy; and her precious fur baby, Ian.
