

She was born in Somerville, New Jersey on February 12, 1930 to Marguerite and J. Bindley Hoff. She grew up in Summit, New Jersey where she enjoyed many summers on the shores of Bay Head. She graduated from Summit High School and Stratford College in Danville, Virginia. In 1950, she married Richard Allan Morton and they moved to Greensboro, North Carolina where they built a beautiful life together.
She leaves a large and loving family to cherish the memories of holidays at her warm and welcoming home and the joy of her Litchfield Beach house. Gifted with an excellent memory all 95 of her years, she never missed sending a birthday or anniversary wish to her constantly growing family. Listed here, as she did every night in her prayers:
Her children; Susan (Vic) Cochran, Barbara (Benson) Marsh, Richard (Myong) Morton, Linda (Mac) Healy and Diane (Andrew) Jackson.
Her grandchildren; David and Michael (Allison) Cochran, Bradley (Katie), Gregory (Jennifer) and Becca (Greg O’Reagan) Marsh, Mackie (Alex) Glauber, Ben (Catherine) Healy, Andrew and Liam Jackson, Chrissy (Michael) Tran and Jen Douillard. Her great grandchildren; Lily, Caroline and Mac Cochran, Julian and Vivie Marsh, Augie and Nelson Marsh, Tess O’Reagan , Willa and Greta Glauber, Teddy Healy, Sam and Bell Tran.
She will be laid to rest alongside her husband of 58 years in the columbarium at First Presbyterian Church where she was a long time member. A service will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 1:00 in First Presbyterian Church Chapel.
