Donald Clark McMillion died Wednesday, September 6, at his home in Greensboro. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia in 1938, educated at Asheville School, UNC-Chapel Hill, the UNC School of Law, and NYU School of Law. His professional life spanned from his years at Citicorp in New York, through founding First Securities, where he became the youngest President of a NYSE member firm at 29 years of age, to his present Greensboro business McMillion Capital Management, which he founded in 1977.
He was a long-time supporter and board member of both the Eastern Music Festival & The Mebane Foundation.
He was a consummate professional and a true gentleman.
He is survived by his wife, Lou, his daughters Elizabeth England and husband Andy, Evans McMillion and husband Chris Burgess, Stephanie Plemmons and husband Doug, son Alex Hooker and wife Chanel Frisco, and grandchildren Oliver and Sallie England, Lang and Macon Burgess, Gus Plemmons, and Claudia Hooker.
At Mr. McMillion's request, there will be no public service.
