Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.
Don was born in Guilford County on June 25, 1943, to the late Lewis and Rosa Varner. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Don worked for Lee Oil Company and later worked for Martin-Marrietta. He enjoyed fishing and NASCAR. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by daughters, Jenette and Shelia Varner; sister, Laura Harris; and a brother, Worth Varner.
He is survived by his grandson, John Lindsey; daughter, Debbie Lindsey; son, Wayne Varner; twin brother, Ronald “Ron” Varner; and two other brothers, Rayford Varner and Ernest Varner.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Friday evening, November 9, 2012, at the funeral home and other times at his twin brother Ron’s home.
