A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27407, officiated by Rev. Ray Calhoun. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family for a time of visitation from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Doris was born in Guilford County on September 19, 1949. On December 24, 1967, Doris married the love of her life, Kenneth Coltrane, and together they built a home filled with warmth, faith, and laughter. She was devoted member of Community Chapel Baptist Church in Greensboro. Her grandchildren knew her as "Nana" and she treasured every moment spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Elizabeth Russell.
Doris is survived by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Coltrane; daughter, Donna Gordy (Shelton Johnson); son, Joe Coltrane (Mary); three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two on the way; and brother James Tilley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Chapel Baptist Church - Building Fund, 3501 Ravendale Drive, Greensboro, North Carolina 27406.
