Mrs. Doris Griffin

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel, with Rev. Vernon Gales officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Born in Guilford County, to the late Ernest and Nellie Sue Solomon, Mrs. Griffin was of the Christian faith. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved nothing more than spending time with her family and taking care of them. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William K. “Bill” Griffin , a grandson, Chris Covil-Bowers, and 7 siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Diane Murray and husband William “Cookie:, and Sherry Bowers and husband Kim; grandchildren, Kevin Murray, Greg Murray, and Shannon Bowers-Darnell; 5 great-grandchildren, brother, Garland “Jim” Solomon and wife Judy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 until 1:00 pm Wednesday, at the funeral home.
