OBITUARY

Doris Gerringer Martin

Doris Gerringer Martin, 94, formerly of Greensboro, NC died on August 5th at Villa Springs in Erlanger, Ky. A service to celebrate her life, led by Reverend Immanuel Pegram will be held at 11:00 AM on August 11th at the Westminster Gardens Mausoleum located at 3601 Whitehurst Rd. in Greensboro, NC.

Doris was a lifelong member of Lindley Park Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC where she was a member of the choir and served as an usher. She retired from First Union Bank. She was the beloved wife of the late Joe D Martin. Loving Mother of Tom Martin (Mary) of Greensboro, NC and Donna Kanarek (Bob) of Union, Ky; Cherished grandmother of Stacey Blanton (Justin) and great-grandmother to Savannah Johnson and Harper Blanton. Grandmother of David Kanarek (Sheri) and two great grandsons Brycen and Alex. She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Ethel Gerringer, her brother Hulon Gerringer, and infant brother and sister. She is survived by her sister Jean Holyfield (Jim) and sister in law, Francis Gerringer.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude and thanks to the compassionate caregivers at Colonial Gardens who treated her like family and to Villa Springs who lovingly cared for Doris. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to the charity of your choice.
