

She lived in High Point, the town she loved, grew up in, and made a family with her husband, Charlie, before they moved to South Carolina to be close to their family. Dorothy and Charlie enjoyed a loving marriage of 73 years.
Dorothy also worked at Flowers Bakery as an office manager for 35 years until she retired.
Dorothy had an amazing sense of humor, loved to cut up and was easy to laugh. She enjoyed exercising, doing crafts, cross stitching, baking, and canning pickles with her husband. She loved a good banana and peanut butter sandwich with potato chips on any day. She especially liked going to Badin Lake and being with family and friends. Most importantly she was a loving Mom and Grandma!
Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Chavis (Marvin) Wagener, SC; two granddaughters Heather Farrer (Dale), Aiken, SC; Michelle’ Mandel (fiancé Jerad Jeffries), Aiken, SC; three great-grandchildren Tyler Farrer (Graysen), Dalzell, SC; Nicholas and Nathan Mandel, Aiken, SC; and one great great-grandchild, Jackson Farrer, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by husband, Charlie; sister Blanche King; brothers Hubert and Harold Chadwick; and grandson-in-law, Michael Mandel.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the many caregivers that assisted and cared for Ms. Dot. She enjoyed their company and companionship.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. Entombment will be in the Sedgefield Memorial Mausoleum at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
