

Mrs. Dorothy Delores Sartin Mitchell, 87, a former resident of Jamestown passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 29, 2015 after a brief illness. Dorothy was born September 16, 1928 in Guilford County the daughter of William Arthur and Daisy Emaline Calhoun Sartin.
She was retired from Macfield Texturing Co. in Burlington and was of the Baptist faith.
Dorothy was married to Lemmie Johnson Mitchell who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gladys Sartin and brothers, Howard and James Ed Sartin.
She is survived by children, Rebecca Brown of Burlington, Connie Cowell and husband Dan of North Huntingdon, PA, Johnny Mitchell of Jamestown, Robin Walton and husband Jeff of Burlington, Timothy Mitchell and wife Robin of Petersburg, TN, Dennis Mitchell and wife Tammy of Climax; sisters, Pauline Caperna and husband Harry of Baltimore, MD, Vallie Gibson of Liberty; sister-in-law, Mary Frances Mabry of Boone; 12 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Pastor David Neese. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The family requests that any memorials be made to the Hospice of the donor’s choice.
