

Dorothy Ann Hudson Pegram, 85, a resident of High Point went to meet her Savior on April 26, 2026, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born September 19, 1940, in Guilford County, the daughter of Charlie Franklin and Bessie Bullin Hudson.
Dorothy was a graduate of Sumner High School in Greensboro. She worked for over 39 years with Pilot Life Insurance Co. Dorothy was a faithful member of Life Community Church until health issues prevented her from attending. In her Sunday School Class, she was known as the “Greeting Card” lady. Making sure that birthdays, sickness, etc. of class members or their families and friends received that special card.
She was married to Richard Clay Pegram for 58 years, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Gaynell Hudson Howell and a brother, Charles Hudson Jr.
Dorothy loved her family greatly. She was always present at family gatherings and loved spending time with her grandchildren and supporting their activities. She also cherished time with her two sisters.
Surviving is her daughter, Pamela Pegram Brown and husband Mark of Kernersville; one sister, Geneva Hudson Dollinger of Greensboro and two grandchildren, Parker Brown and Isabella “Ella” Brown of Kernersville. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as sisters in law, Judy Aydelette, (Bill) Elizabeth Joyner and Ann Pegram.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home starting at 10 AM until service time. Assisting the family as pallbearers will be Parker Brown, Matt Brown, Kevin Dollinger, Brian Howell, Dale Hunt, Dan Griffith and Jay Barber.
Special thanks to the staff of Kerner Ridge Assisted Living in Kernersville, NC and Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem, NC for their love and care of Dorothy in her final months and days. Also, special thanks to her two wonderful caregivers, Karen and Anita Del Real, who became like family.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made in Dorothy’s name to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
