

Mrs. Dorothy Waldrep Stanley Trogdon, 83, a resident of Greensboro peacefully joined her Lord and Savior on Sunday December 11, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Trogdon was born December 28, 1927 in Houston, TX, the daughter of Percy Patilla and Catherine Doris Pielop Waldrep. She was of the Baptist faith. Dorothy was a homemaker, artist and painting instructor. She had taught painting in her home for 15 years. She was also a miniaturist and dollmaker who delighted in creating beauty. That delight was surpassed only by her devotion to family, friends and her home. She was married to Glenn Marvin Stanley who preceded her in death. Dorothy then married H.E. Trogdon and they shared 47 beautiful years of marriage together.
Surviving is her husband, H.E. Trogdon of the home; two daughters, Laura Katherine Stanley Phillips and husband Roger of Mooresville, Teresa Adelle Stanley Steed and fiancé Steven Miller of Greensboro; her step children; three sisters; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Private family services will be held later.
