Dwight "D.W." Wayne Lash, age 95, a resident of Greensboro passed away at Beacon Place on Thursday, September 25, 2025. He was born February 5, 1930 in the community of Midway in Davidson County, the son of the late Vera Davis Lash.
D.W. was a graduate of Bessemer High School. He attended GTCC. He worked with Western Electric for 23 years and then for 13 years with A.T. & T. in Winston-Salem. A veteran, he served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of Muir's Chapel United Methodist Church.
D.W. is survived by his wife, Jeanette Matthews Lash of the home; his daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Allen of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Stuart Allen and wife Melanie, Banks Allen and his wife Crystal, Rob Allen and his wife Amanda and seven great grandchildren, Walker Allen, Harrison Allen, John Davis Allen, Graham Allen, Olivia Allen, Reid Allen and Trad Allen.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday October 3, 2025 at Guilford Memorial Park with Military Honors presented by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will visit will friends following the service.
