

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 19, at Forest Lawn Cemetery officiated by Rev. Newton Cowan.
Ned was born August 15, 1953, in Guilford County, NC, son of the late Leonidas Clyde and Mary Wimbish Vaughan. He graduated from Page High School and Greensboro College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in History.
Ned was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was a kind and gentle person who was loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed the simple things in life; good food, good music, good friends and good beer. Ned was an avid Duke fan and Carolina Hurricanes fan.
In addition to his parents, Ned was preceded in death by his brother, Leonidas Clyde “Skipper” Vaughan, III. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Vicki Vaughan; his beloved son, Edgar Darden Vaughan, Jr. and his fiancée, Ashley Grady and her daughter Ella Grady; sisters, Jane Teer and her husband, John Teer and Marty Vaughan Shelton. Also surviving are mother and father-in-law, Lampros and Dorothy Megremis; sister and brother-in-law, Georgette and Ed Galloway; nieces and nephews, Katherine, Victoria (Sean), Lee (Liz), Candy (Taylor), Katie (Nate), Mary Marshall (Charlie), Martha and Burton, Matthew (Julie), Ted (Jenn) as well as many close family friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel.
