

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 PM Monday, May 24th, 2021 at St. Pius X Catholic Church by Monsignor Anthony Marcaccio. A reception will follow at the Garden at Gray Gables, 4105 Oak Ridge Rd., Summerfield, NC 27358. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Edith was born November 22, 1940 in Passaic, NJ, the daughter of Charles and Edith Green McLaughlin.
A graduate of Saint Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Patterson, NJ. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, who proudly practiced her faith in both word and action. She was a loving wife to her husband, Bob, for nearly 60 years as well as a sister, mother of 6, grandmother and friend. Edith had a huge heart who advocated for the less fortunate and “underdogs”. She welcomed, supported and cared for many foster children, changing their lives by providing the love, support and encouragement they needed to flourish. Edith was an avid gardener and pet lover with a special place in her heart for her Golden Retrievers. Edith loved the mountains, camping with her family and sitting on the beach. Above all, Edith cherished spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert Sedlatschek; children, Robert Sedlatschek (Amy) of Statesville, Richard Sedlatschek (Michelle) of Waynesville, OH, Michael Sedlatschek (Laura) of Boston, KY, Mary Beth Horan (Mike) of Summerfield, Laura Lejeune (Dan) of Liberty Township, OH, and Guadalupe Woodard (Derrick) of Cleveland, OH; brother, Donald McLaughlin (Mary) of Sea Girt, NJ and sister, Louellen Hofgesang (Ken) of Washington, NJ; grandchildren, Bobby and Taylor Sedlatschek, Jessica, Kyle and Shelby Jodoin, Michelle Werner, Becky, Jenny and Tyler Sedlatschek, Kristen and Cody Sedlatschek, Michael, Brendan and Connor Horan, Catie and Luke Lejeune.
Family and friends will be received 4-8 PM Sunday May 23rd at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel.
