

Mrs. Edith Wilson Sink, 100, a resident at Pennybyrn at Maryfield and a former resident of Greensboro died Sunday evening January 19, 2014 at Pennybyrn. Mrs. Sink was born March 28, 1913 in Greensboro, the daughter of Edward and Grace Hyatt Wilson. She was employed for 40 years with Vick Chemical Co. before retiring. A member of Peace United Church of Christ, she was active in her church in Sunday School and the church Circles.
She was married to Norvell Sink who preceded her in death in 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Evelyn Delores Ridge; a grandson, David Burroughs; two sisters, Dorothy Rumpf, Martha Hasty and two brothers, E.C. Wilson and James “Jimmy” Wilson.
Surviving are two daughters, Norma Jo Burroughs of Jamestown, Carolyn Jean Shoffner of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Helen W. Andrews of Greensboro; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and three great grandchildren..
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Peace United Church of Christ with Reverend Tom Warren officiating. Private family committal services will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from morning from 10:30 a.m. until service time.
