Edward "Eddie" Therron Coble

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Green Hill Cemetery, 901 Wharton St., Greensboro, NC 27401. Eddie will lie-in-state from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m., at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St. Chapel, 515 N. Elm St., Greensboro, NC 27401.

Know as “Eddie” by all his family, friends and co-workers, lived in Greensboro for his entire life. He worked for the City of Greensboro in the Transportation Department for 30 years, before retiring.

He was born on January 30, 1953, to the late John Bedford Coble and Murley Elizabeth Bagwell Coble. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Coble of Atlanta, GA; and sisters, Sue Funk and Alice Weiss, also of GA.

He is survived by his sisters, Cookie Johnson of Greensboro and Jean McCormick (Craig) of Archdale; several nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law; and other extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund or to the American Heart Association.
