

Ed was born in Potts Camp, Mississippi on March 15, 1931, the son of Walter and Berlin Reynolds Gray. Ed started his working career in television as a newscaster and ventured into radio advertising sales & promotions. In 1973 he founded Southeast Productions and started two private promoted events…The Leisure Living Home & Garden Show and the Mid-Atlantic Boat Show. For the next 42 years he devoted his life to the consumer trade show industry by creating & managing up to 10 events per year. Ed was very well respected and recognized in the Marine Trade Show Industry as a leader in Boat Shows in the southeast and the Mid-Atlantic Boat Show continues to be one of the largest and oldest events of its kind on the east coast. He loved to coastal fish, woodwork and took great pride in the landscaping of his home. His most important interest was his family and always gave of himself whenever needed. His reward was making sure those around him were happy.
Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty in 2000. Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Vanessa Gray of Snead’s Ferry, NC, Gary Gray of Greensboro, NC, Russell Gray of Greensboro, NC, Les Gray and wife Tracy of Belew’s Creek, NC ; grandchildren; Edward B. Gray and wife Jennifer, Crystal G. Henley and husband Andy, Jenny L. Gray, Ragen G. Brown and husband Jeremy, Allen Gray and fiancé Ana, Ryan M. Gray, Allison N. Loeber, Kristopher K. Loeber, Shelby A. Gray; great grandchildren, Madison E. Gray, Kaylee M.Henley and Jaxon B. Brown.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Funeral services will be on Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
