A service celebrating Wayne’s life will be held Friday, 1:00 p.m., at Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends form 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m., prior to the service, at the cemetery.
Wayne was born September 11, 1940 in Greensboro, the son of James Edward Knott and Edith Loftis Knott.
Wayne enjoyed watching racing and wrestling. He was a faithful man and enjoyed serving others, all with a good sense of humor and always kind. Most of all, Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Height and his brother in law, Dan Kinney.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Gayle Knott; sons, Rodney Knott (Debbie) of Gibsonville and Danny Knott (Leslie) of Greensboro; daughter, Crystal Knott (Ronnie Priddy) of Reidsville; sister, Marie Kinney of Kernersville and son in law, Jim Height of Wilmington; grandchildren, Cynthia Arehart (Jason), Harrison Knott, William Worley (Katie Austin) and Clarissa Priddy; great grandchildren, Katelynn Worley and Augustus Arehart.
The family asks with gratitude that memorials in Wayne’s name be made to the American Cancer Society, 7027 Albert Pick Rd., Greensboro, NC 27409.
