Elaine Martin Lemons, 85, of Colfax, NC, died March 24, 2025. She was born in Franklin County, VA on July 13, 1939. She was a Christian and a long-time member of St John’s Church. She was a 1957 Martinsville HS graduate and a Civil Service retiree with 27 years of service (Air Force, Army, IRS). She and her USAF retired husband of 66 years resided at Kindley AFB Bermuda, McChord AFB WA, Warner Robbins AFB GA, and Charleston AFB SC; then Greensboro and High Point, NC.
She is survived by her husband, William T. Lemons, Jr., children: Stephen (Rhonda) Lemons of Madison, NC; Mark (Linda) Lemons of Gray, TN; Dana Lemons of Colorado Springs, CO; Barry Lemons (Teresa) of Randleman/Asheboro, NC; Barbara Lemons of High Point, NC. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister, Gladys Walker of Martinsville and many dear sweet nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 1:00 pm, March 27, 2025 at St John’s Church; 1304 Merritt Drive; Greensboro, NC 27407, followed by a Memorial service at 2:00 pm.
