Emily Jones Patterson

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Chapel at 11:00 am. A private interment will be in the church cemetery.

Emily was born in Greensboro, NC on September 11, 1915 to the late Robert Lewis Jones, Sr. and Lena Foy Campbell Jones. She was a graduate of Pleasant Garden High School and worked for the Postal Service and Ellis Stone. She was a lifelong member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and previously served as the organist and choir director.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Garfield Patterson, Sr., her parents and brother, Robert Lewis Jones, Jr. She is survived by her son George Patterson Jr., and his wife Lin of Fort Mill, SC, daughter, Gwen Worthington and her husband Tom of Greensboro, and daughter, Pam Tysinger (the late Hal Tysinger, Jr. and the late Mel Cooper) of Fort Mill, SC; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends on Friday, February 11, 2011 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Chapel / Cemetery Fund, 5607 Liberty Road Greensboro, NC 27406 in her memory.
