Funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the Bethel Presbyterian Church. Private interment will be at the Alamance Presbyterian Church.
A native of Guilford County, Mrs. Pugh was the daughter of Robert and Avis Starr Gannon. She was a lifelong member of Alamance Presbyterian Church, a member of the Mary Martha Lydia Circle and the Scotman Rowe Anderson Sunday School Class. She retired from Sears after 25 years of service. Mrs. Pugh faithfully supported Hospice of Greensboro by making crocheted Angels and was known by many as the “Angel Lady”. She was also very appreciative to Pat Gibbons of Hospice and the entire Hospice staff. The family would also like to thank the staff of Twin Lakes for their compassionate care with a special thanks to Laura Hill.
She was preceded in death by husband, Royce Edward Pugh, her parents Robert and Avis Gannon, her sisters Catherine Gannon, Edna Dean, Vance Gourley and Mary Poore, her brothers Grier Gannon and Worth Gannon. She is survived by her nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great- great nieces and great- great nephews and many people who claimed her as “Aunt Eula”. “Aunt Eula” showed her love for her “family” through her smile, her hugs and her crocheted handiwork.
The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall.
Memorials may be made to the Bethel Presbyterian Church, 300 Knox Road, McLeansville, NC 27301 or to Hospice of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
