

She was born in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina and lived most of her life in Greensboro, North Carolina. She worked many years at Burlington Industries and Dow Corning as well as on the family farm.
She was a charter member of Sumner Baptist Church where she attended as long as her health permitted.
She is survived by a daughter: Barbara Morrison and husband Robert of Greeneville, Tennessee; a son: Bruce Denny and wife Yvonne of Jamestown; grandchildren: Sherry Mallory, Greg Evans, Lori Sterling, Kevin Stanley, Amanda Locklear, and Matthew Denny; fourteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the daughter of the late John Anderson Smith and Stacy Golden Smith. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years: Clayton Denny; a daughter: Peggy Evans; two sisters: Ruby Ring and Myrtle Baker; three brothers: Abbie, Howard, and Paul Smith; and a grandson: Brad Stanley.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday February 25th at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with funeral services on Sunday, February 26th at 2:00 p.m., also at the Sedgefield Chapel of Hanes Lineberry. . The Rev. Thomas Brown and Rev. Larry Thompson will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Pinnacle View Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina.
