A graveside service celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., in Greensboro.
Evelyn was born August 31, 1949 in Greensboro to the late Pete Eugene Ballard and Tansy Delight Dillon Ballard. She graduated from Grimsley High School in 1967 and then studied Secretarial Science at Greensboro College. Evelyn married James Irwin Kearney in 1968 and their only son Michael was born in 1969. She has a 33 year career as secretary for Communications Workers of America in the North Carolina state office. Evelyn was a huge animal lover, enjoyed antiques, cooking, traveling abroad and Rod Stewart was her favorite music artist. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Christopher Mark Ballard.
