Evelyn Irene Moorhead Teague of High Point, NC, died on April 12th, 2019. Evelyn, the oldest child of Fred Cecil and Lillie Mae Coleman Moorhead was born November 27, 1921 in Anderson SC. Evelyn grew up in Greensboro and graduated from Greensboro High School in 1938. She met her husband, Paul Franklin Teague, in high school and married him June 9, 1943. They lived in High Point where they raised their three daughters. She moved to Winston Salem in 2009. Evelyn was a member of First Baptist Church in High Point. She was employed as a legal secretary at Sprinkle Coffield and Stackhouse, Attorneys for over 20 years. Evelyn was a member of ABWA, Furniture Capital Chapter; High Point Historical Society, Furniture City Woman’s Club, High Point Literary League and Tea Leaf Club International. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers William (Essie) and James (Jackie); sister Frances (John) Bridges. She is survived by her sister Freda Rich of Fort Mill SC; sister-in-law Naomi Breland of Matthews; three daughters: Stephanie Teague Brooks (Michael) of Winston Salem, Susan Teague Hardin (Ed) of Banner Elk , Sherrill Paule Teague (Michael Mills) of Little River SC. Also seven grandchildren: Pamela McKay (Michael), Paula Reed (David), Patricia Bundy, Tracy Wyrick, Ted Hardin (Carey), Sarah Corsaro (Matthew), Emily Garner (Brad); and a legacy of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, April, 16th, 2:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Boulevard, Greensboro. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church High Point NC, 405 N Main Street High Point, 27260 or to the High Point Literary League Scholarship at High Point University, 1 University Parkway, Drawer 29, High Point. 27268 Her family wishes to thank the staff at Forest Heights Assisted Living for their years of kind and loving care of our mother. Also Community Home Care and Hospice for their compassionate assistance with her care in her last weeks.

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. I have fond memories of times at your home on N. Hamilton St. Looking at dance costumes and roller skating parties stand out. I always thought your mom was so nice. I remember all of you girls but Sherrill was my age and grade. Yeah, Ray Street school!

Biography

Evelyn Irene Moorhead Teague of High Point, NC, died on April 12th, 2019. Evelyn, the oldest child of Fred Cecil and Lillie Mae Coleman Moorhead was born November 27, 1921 in Anderson SC.
