Fairella Maynard Waynick, Feb 19th 1931 - July 20th 2019, 88, of Greensboro passed peacefully on Saturday July 20th after a long battle with dementia. She was the daughter of the late Levander and Mary Emanuel of Godwin. She was baptized at Shiloh Pentecostal Church and graduated from ECI High School in Sampson County, where her father was principal. She moved with her husband, Hoover, to Greensboro in the 1950s to seek out better economic opportunities. Fairella worked for a time as a Krispy Kreme donut glazer, a bookbinder, and a mother and homemaker. She retired from Vicks/ Proctor & Gamble in Greensboro after 25 years of faithful service. Fairella loved life, looking for the best in people and always trying to find ways to help when she could. She loved gardening and was known for her green thumb, often nursing back plants to health for friends and family. She also enjoyed porch sitting with neighbors and friends, shopping for bargains, and taking her grandson out for hotdogs and ice cream. She was a kindhearted woman who never met a stranger and enjoyed traveling in her retirement. She is preceded by her husbands J. Hoover Maynard and Daniel Waynick, her son Danny Maynard, her siblings, Lawrence, Leola, and Eunice. She is survived by her siblings, Cornelius, Agnes, Elbert and Eyvonne, her son Dennis Maynard and wife Kimberly, and grandson Brandon Maynard. Fairella was also blessed to be close with her many in-laws, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at North Pointe of Archdale for the care they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Asheboro or the Alzheimer’s Association.
