Dawn was born on December 24, 1959 in Atlanta, Georgia, to Luther and Jeanette Bell. She was a 1977 graduate of Walter Hines Page High School and went on to North Carolina State University, where she obtained a B.S. degree in Education and studied in the Master of Industrial Arts program. Dawn was well-known for her artistic talent and unique style. Her humor and tenacious nature, along with her will to spend every moment possible with her only grandson, kept her pushing through each obstacle that cancer put in her path.
Dawn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hugh and Lillian Bell and Carl and Annie Bruner. She is survived by her parents, Luther and Jeanette Bell, son, Connor Huntwork, daughter, Kylen Ribeiro, son-in-law, Alan Ribeiro, grandson, Vincent Ribeiro; ex-husband, friend, and father of her children, Richard Huntwork; sister, Laura Bell, brother, Tony Bell, sister-in-law, Amelia Bell, brother Joe Bell, sister-in-law, Amy Bell, and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of Dawn’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 North Elm Street, Greensboro, North Carolina 27401. Visitation will immediately precede the service from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. Following the service, Dawn’s family invites those interested to join them at Jake’s Billiards to continue the celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to PACE of the Triad, 1471 E. Cone Boulevard, Greensboro, NC 27405 or Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
