Frances Arrants Herring

Frances (Fran) Arrants Herring was born on February 17, 1936 and passed away peacefully February 5, 2017. In addition to her parents, Norman Harris and Mary Leona Arrants, she was preceded in death by her life-long friend and eternal husband, Fred D. Herring.

She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Sherrill of Charlotte, NC; four daughters, Cheryl (Denise) Threatt and husband Gary Threatt of Kershaw, SC, Camile Woods and husband Fred Woods of Greensboro, NC, Robin Hinton and husband Walter (Wally) Hinton of Greensboro, NC, and Marla Watts of Winston-Salem, NC. Frances was blessed with 13 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Frances worked many years in the medical field in various positions, and after retirement, ran an industrial cleaning service owned by her and her husband. After her second retirement, Frances found great joy in caring for children, newborn to 2 yrs. old. Frances loved people and found happiness in giving to others of her time and talents. She was selfless to a fault and her home and heart were always open to anyone at any time. She found inspiration and peace in her belief of the Mormon faith, and lived her life to be an example to others. She was a mother who lived for her children and family and her very breath was of devotion and love for them. Frances was a devoted wife and Fred was the love of her life. Together they were a team through life’s challenges and blessings. This world has lost a great woman whose smile could sooth a troubled soul, and in whose hug and listening ear one could find comfort.
