Frances Yost Wilson

Frances was born on June 15, 1926 in Salisbury, NC, the daughter of Lewis McKinley and Lala Irene Correll Yost. She moved to Greensboro with her husband Thomas in 1966. She loved to sew and was an accomplished seamstress. In her later years baking special desserts became her hobby. She took great pride in sharing her delicious baked goods with friends and family. Frances was an active member of the Lutheran Church of Our Father for over 46 years. She worked with Mobile Meals for many years . She was a member of Starmount Christian Women’s Club. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Wilson; brothers, Jack Yost, Arthur Lee “Buddy” Yost; sisters, Edith Mesimore and Sue Frick. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Brenda Shoffner and husband Lynn of Pleasant Garden, NC; grandchildren, Bess Hilliard and husband Matthew, Eve Jomp and husband Jason; great grandchildren, Ella and Tory Hilliard and Leah Jomp.;sisters, Evelyn Stone and Anne Wilson of Salisbury, NC and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, 3:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of Our Father with burial to follow Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.
