Gladys retired from the A & P Company after the closing of all of the Greensboro stores. She loved to garden both flowers and vegetables and told her daughter Shirley just a few weeks ago, she put a bunch of tomatoes on a lot of plates and she did. Gladys was a life long member of Southside Baptist Church.
Gladys was married to Marion S. Burnham who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Poplin Rogers and husband Cal; son, Rick Burnham and wife Debbie; grandchildren, Carla Marshall and husband Gary, Alissa Stillinger and husband Tony, Erik and wife Leslie, Summer Stotler and husband Jeff; 10 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren with one on the way.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Westminster Gardens Cemetery in Greensboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gladys’s memory to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215
