GLADYS PLEMMONS CHURCH June 21, 1927 – October 4, 2021

Mom is with Jesus now after a long life of loving others and being loved by family and so many others. She lived a full life of hard work and making memories. She was born in Black Mountain, NC, met her husband of 57 years, and raised a family of 7 children, expanding to 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 14 great, great grandchildren, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Her brother, Fred Plemmons is living in Memphis Tn. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clyde Church, 2 grandchildren, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Mom retired from AT&T as a long-distance operator and then worked and retired again from Big Lots. Her last 10 years were enjoyed at Coventry House of Siler City where she was cared for and loved by the Coventry House Family. Mom was the organist at her Church for many years. She was the best at making people feel loved and always welcomed. She loved the garden and all outdoors. Mom was an amazing woman and there is not enough room to tell it all. If you knew her, you knew she was very special. We will celebrate her life with a graveside celebration at Guilford Memorial Park 6000 W. Gate City Blvd. Greensboro, NC on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, send donations to Pleasant Garden Baptist Church 1415 Neelley Road, Pleasant Garden, NC 27313 for missions pgbc.com or to Community Home Care & Hospice Sanford, 1836 Doctors Dr. Sanford, NC 27330 communityhch.com

I always enjoyed being around Gladys. She was always a joy to be with and talk to. I know she will be greatly missed. I know she is in Heaven praising God and living in His glory. What a day this is for her. I am thankful to have had her in my life.

It is going to be so hard moving on through life without her loving hands to touch me and to see and hold her smiling face, but knowing that she will no longer be longing for her family (because of the COVID-19 protocol we were unable to visit with her as often as we once had). Please know that she was protected at Coventry House from COVID-19 and did not die from it! She died in the arms of her children, loving her and taking her as far as we could go to the Pearly Gates of Heaven with all the joy in our hearts we could have, telling her all the way what a great momma she was to us! We will miss her terribly but will always look for affirmations that she is safe and happy with our Lord as I know she is! Thank you all for all of your kinds words, but know that "sorry for your loss" doesn't hold a drop in a bucket to how big a loss this world has suffered without her in it! She was a GEM! We love you, Momma!

To the family of Gladys Church:

We are sorry to hear of the passing of your loved one.

We are rejoicing that she is with the Lord!

We did not know her but knew of her.

Her service for the Lord at Willomore Church included organist and Sunday School teacher.

How blessed people were to have such a giving and loving person around them, especially at Willomore Church.
