Gladys Patterson Sobek

Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the West Market Street United Methodist Church with William Ellison officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Dunn, NC.

A native of Erwin, NC, Mrs. Sobek was a former employee of the State of New Jersey. She was a member of the West Market Street United Methodist Church, a member of the Asbury Covenant Sunday School Class and past president of the Circle 1 Club of United Methodist Women and volunteered with many functions within the church. She was an avid doll collector, loved the beach and made crafts from the sea shells she collected there.

Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Sobek, she is survived by her favorite sister-in-law Jewel Patterson of Greensboro, NC; nephews Ray Patterson of Louisburg, NC, Allen Patterson of Summerfield, NC, niece Lisa Patterson Sumner of Raleigh, NC; several grandnieces and grandnephew.

The family will receive friends after the service in the Gathering Space at the church.
