Glen Allen Davidson, 56, a resident of Greensboro died Thursday April 24, 2014 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. Glen was born May 30, 1957 in Argentina, the son of James Alfred and Una Baker Davidson. He enjoyed life and what it offered, whether it was playing golf with his friends or playing his guitar as he loved music, often writing his own songs. Glen was an avid UNC Tar Heel fan. In the summertime he loved spending time with his family and cousins at their cottage on Crystal Lake in Michigan. Glen is survived by his wife, Lesa Davidson of the home, one daughter, Janet Kivett and husband Brandon of Jamestown; one son, Taylor Davidson of the home; his parents, James and Una Davidson of Greensboro; one sister, Maurine Griffin and husband Hugh of Claremont, CA; one brother, Ron Davidson of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Bryson Kivett and Mason Kivett and nephews, David Griffin, Scott Griffin and Rob Griffin. A Service to Celebrate Glen’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Reverend Donna Smith. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Because of Glen’s love for animals, the family requests that memorials be made in his memory to Project Bark, 2313 Hilltop Trail, Jamestown, NC 27282 or to the American Heart Association, 202 Centeport Dr., Greensboro, NC 27409.

So Sorry to hear this news. I worked with Glen at Carolina Golf and played golf with him whenever possible. We had lost touch the last year or so but I thought surely our paths would cross again only to hear the tragic news. I will never forget his encouragement for me to "play the guitar more often" after he heard me play a few things while relaxing after a really good round of golf one day. He would always offer tips and encouragement and any situation. He was just a good guy in general. RIP mi amigo.

Dear Family and friends,
I remember many great times at Crystal Lake with Glen only a few cottages away. Think of all the wonderful memories we have from getting together for many water sports or going to Lake Michigan for some great cook outs??. I wish you all well, through this difficult time. Enjoy the time you have together in celebrating Glens life.

Dear Ones, this is our prayer . . .
“O God, giver of life and conqueror of death,
0ur help in every time of trouble,
We trust that you do not willingly grieve or afflict us.
Comfort us who mourn;
And give us grace, in the presence of death, to worship
You that we may have sure hope of eternal life and
Be enabled to put our whole trust in your
Goodness and mercy;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.”
