A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm Friday in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:15 pm prior at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
Buck was born on May 31, 1922 in Davidson County. He served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Hornet. In January 1948 he married Sarah Virginia Cook who preceded him in death. He later married Clara Dancusse who also preceded him in death. Buck was the owner and operator of Gate City Mattress Co. until his retirement.
Buck is survived by son, Larry Johnson and wife Lorraine; daughter, Sandra Grogan and husband Max; granddaughters, Suzanne Ghent Hill and husband Shane, and Tiffany Payne and husband Ryan; two great grandchildren, D.J. and Sarah Ghent.
