Gregory Hubert O'Steen

Mr. Gregory Hubert O'Steen, 62, of Greensboro, NC died December 22, 2013 in Valdese, NC. Son of the late Hubert Lee O'Steen and Nella Sutton O'Steen, Greg was born in Burlington, NC on December 18, 1951. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Lee O'Steen.

Greg is survived by his sister, Linda O'Steen Eskridge and her husband, Clyde, of Morganton; niece, Katherine Eskridge Turnmire and her husband, Ross, of Raleigh; niece, Anne Eskridge Haddock, and her husband, Jeremy, of Wilmington; and nephew, John Eskridge, of Ghana.

Greg's years at the Greensboro Recreation Department, GMAC insurance, and playing old time music produced many dear friendships who have supported him throughout his courageous battle with cancer. The family would like to thank the staff at Wesley Long Oncology Unit, Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, and St. Francis Episcopal Church.

The funeral will be Friday, December 27 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Greensboro. Burial will follow at Willowdale Cemetary in Goldsboro, NC.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 26 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Hanes-Linebery Funeral Home at 515 North Elm Street in Greensboro.
