Gretchen Elizabeth Gleason

Greensboro-Gretchen Elizabeth Gleason, 32, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2014 in Greensboro, NC after a lengthy illness. Gretchen was born July 28, 1981 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and was a resident of Greensboro for 17 years. She graduated from the Greensboro Day School in 2000, and flourished in her chosen major in college by graduating cum laude with a psychology degree from UNCG. She was full of life and beloved by all who knew her throughout her extended community. She had a special love for family and friends, and her cat, Teddy.

Gretchen is survived by her parents, David and Rosemary (George) Gleason, brother, David Robinson Gleason, sister, Jennifer (Gleason) Yacka, her husband Scott and their three sons: Christopher, Thomas, and Evan. She is also survived by her grandmother, Helen Gleason, uncle, Edward Gleason, aunt, Melanie George, uncle, Joseph George, aunt, Barbara George, and five cousins.

Visitation for Gretchen will be at Hanes Lineberry funeral home at 515 North Elm Street in Greensboro on Thursday, May 22nd from 7-9 pm. Gretchen was a lover of all animals, and donations may be made in her memory to the Guilford County Animal Shelter, 4525 West Wendover Ave., Greensboro, NC 27409.
